Capes For Courage
This is our friend, Michelle Kasten. She is the founder of Capes for Courage, based in Kentucky. In this photo, Michelle is celebrating YEAR 6 of being cancer free!
July, Michelle will have the honor of spending time with brave and
amazing kids who will be getting a reprieve from fighting cancer at a
place where they can just be kids - a Kids Cancer Alliance
Summer Camp. Michelle will also have the privilege of presenting
a hand-made cape to each child - all 150 of them. She is very
excited. She also NEEDS OUR HELP in order to create 150 capes.
So, on Thursday, July 9 we will be hosting a Capes For Courage Sewing Event from 10a - 6p. If
you can bring a few yards to donate that would be great, otherwise
fabric and pattern will be provided. If you cannot bring a machine
other jobs are available. Please let us know if you plan on attending.
New Blocks of the Month
Check out the Block of the Month page. We have added many exciting new programs for the coming year!
Baptist Health Cough Pillow Sit and Sew
Check the calendar for dates and times
join us for a day of fellowship and fun while helping out with this
charity project. All helping hands are appreciated. Stay all
day or come for an hour. There are several small steps: sew,
place labels, turn or iron, so not everyone needs to bring a machine.
We Are A Project Linus Drop Off Location!
We are a drop off location for Project Linus. 90% of the quilts made will stay local to be given to Kosairs or the
Center for Women and Children. The rest of these blankets and quilts are donated as they are needed across the country. Please click here for more information.
Got Cotton Batting Scraps ?
You don't have to throw them away. Check out this worthwhile way to donate them. Click here for more information and if you're interested you can drop off the cotton batting scraps at the shop.
